π Location Overview & History
SoHo (South of Houston Street) houses approximately 500 historic cast-iron buildings constructed between 1870 and 1890. Greene Street features the longest unbroken stretch of cast-iron facades in the world (often called the 'Queen of Greene Street' and 'King of Greene Street'). The juxtaposition of ornate iron columns, black zig-zagging fire escapes, and Belgian paving stones creates the quintessential NYC fashion and street photography backdrop.
